I have just recently discovered the fun of making vector
images. By pasting multiple paint brush styles you can make a
beautiful image or backgrounds quick and easy. When you don't have a
clear message to convey with your site, a vector collage-style background
can be the perfect choice to draw the viewer's attention to your site over
another. The added plus to this style of design is it can be done
for a very low cost. Imagine, an effective, eye-catching design for
less than a conventional web design.
Vectors can come in all styles and colors. While I
am partial to the monotone coloring, they are equally effective when
multiple colors are used. If your site pertains to sports and
sports equipment, then those images could be used in the vector image.
For a musical site, there are fantastic brushes available.
As I find more and more brushes, I will probably change
out the background from time to time as I find working with vectors a
whole lot of fun.
For those you who cannot see the entire background of this
site, please note the image below. This web page is designed to give
maximum area to text while the design is all in the header and background.
This page floats to the middle of whatever your screen resolution is,
although it is best viewed in the resolution it was designed for: 1280
pixels wide. It is then coded to be kept in a fixed position, so the
browser doesn't need to reload the image for each page, thus keeping the
page-loading time down.
